Volapuek Restaurant in Konstanz

My husband and I went to eat again on the "last day in freedom". We chose the Volapük and even got a table. You don't have to say much about the interior as you can see in the pictures. It's really very nice there :-) The cocktail my husband drank was really tough. Already great. ;) I ordered turkey curry for dinner and my husband had the pork tenderloin with a mixed salad. I really liked the curry, slightly hot and fruity. The meat was also very good, as was the dressing in the salad. Service was very polite, funny, but also professional. Basically everything went well and my husband and I had a great evening. But still I only give 4 stars. Why? In my opinion, the reason is the prices. For example, there is no side dish with the pork tenderloin. You always have to order these separately for an extra charge, and I just don't think that justifies this. But would come back anyway and if it's just to drink. Looking forward to reopening in December ^ _ ^

When we arrived there was a misunderstanding, which meant that we wanted to scurry through reception without MNS, as there was no mask to wear and an employee waved us through. The waiter stopped us harshly and pushed a slip of paper over the counter that we were supposed to fill out. We then ordered our food. The menu was in dire condition and when the food came my plate had 2 chipped areas (the size of a fingernail). The bread dumplings were homemade as promised, but watery and tasteless. The salad garnish was really just decoration. A wide dry slice of carrot, the end of a spring onion split open and a radicchio leaf. The waiter gave the impression that we are not wanted until the end. All in all, we wanted to eat there because it looked very nice and inviting from the outside, but we were bitterly disappointed. Once and never again !

We had made a day trip to Mainau and at the end of the day we wanted to eat something "fine". We had previously made sure that there was a place for us outside and that card payment was possible. Arrived 5 minutes later, the waiter leads us to a table inside the restaurant. I don't want to comment on the ambience. However, the service was unfriendly, the basement at the bar was childish and not a restaurant or wellness hotel. We waited a long time for drinks. 4 soft drinks. The food was loveless and tasted ok. However, in terms of price performance not in order. We felt uncomfortable and not welcome. No further recommendation possible.

Food is delicious, the waiters a little inattentive. Whether the wine is Müller - Thurgau or Grauburgunder. Who Knows ... the dessert didn't come until the third time. Ideally no special requests, then everything is great, or bring your own time.

Rating is for the restaurant: Have been there more often. Great view guaranteed, very cozy guest room. The outdoor area invites you to linger. Portions, however, not lush, but sufficient. The large selection of food but this largely compensated. Price / performance o.k. So far, always get a seat, no matter what the season. Staff friendly. Dogs unwanted, but we in a restaurant advocate.

Very nice!! A very rich breakfast .. very delicious the vegetables and: there is brewed coffee !!!!!

All around you can walk a lot through nature, coffee and cake very well and the food from the menu is also delicious. The service staff is very nice, sometimes everything is not always perfect, but you can overlook that

Once and never again! The food (chanterelles with bread dumplings, salad Volapük) disappointing. Badly spiced, bland. No side-to-side salad - luckily! On the way out I saw bread with flies lying open on a table in the entrance area ... Salt and pepper were only brought on demand - the pepper stick sticky and with defective thread, so that the contents poured in excess of the food ... The waiters unprofessional, very loud and not very sensitive in dealing with guests and dishes. A waiter dropped the basket with the napkins from the service table and the napkins spread out on the floor in the entrance area. The waiter picked them up, piled them back in the basket for further use and covered the next table fresh - then good appetite !!! Incredible!! An invoice receipt was only on demand! The restaurant made a dirty impression, especially in the smelly toilet area. A zero performance for Litzelstetten!

Super nice staff. Great regional cuisine. Beautiful view. Prices are in the "restaurant cut". We were there in 3 days 3 times and it was always very good. Everyone who claims otherwise either has no taste, no humor or both.

The food was great. The condition was great. Price-performance was great. If we did not have to drive so far we would come back every week. Highly recommended :)

We were disappointed with the food, 1 pork steak from the stone for 16, 00 €, which was something of dry, you can not offer ..... Volapük was once known for very good cuisine. Service was good and friendly, but long wait for the food. My dish of the day was very good. The steak from the stone has my son the renewed visit of the restaurant and I thoroughly spoiled, too bad. Will this not visit, even though we often came for brunch .. , This is now over anyway because the hotel does not provide brunch more for the loyal guests Constance .... So never to see you again.

I wanted a nice brunch on Sunday - because of that! The rolls were divided by two to make it look more. The buffet was empty at 12:00 and the waiters said there is nothing left. Never again! In spite of all that, the food was very good - only one should perhaps pack the plates in the morning right away - so you do not starve: D

Great terrace with a beautiful view of the lake.

We were in the restaurant on April 1st. After 2 waiters didn't serve us and didn't even clear the glasses from the previous one. If we left after 20 minutes, the restaurant was not even well attended. We certainly won't go there anymore.

The Argentinian rumpsteak and the salad with fish were very good. There is nothing wrong with the kitchen. Only the service was not up to par and not attentive.
